Road Trip

I actually had time and the mojo was with me, to sit down and create a LO. When I sat down to work on a LO, I really had no idea what I was going to do. I looked at pagemaps and found a sketch that I really liked and these pictures popped into my mind for the LO. Well, I started with the sketch and then all of a sudden it became my own LOL! I love it when a LO comes together like that :)

These pictures are from the day we took Sabrina 1/2 home to North Carolina. The pictures were actually taken in West Virigina.

SAD update!

Maxie, my baby rabbit, passed away last night (9-27-08) at 6:20 :(. He died peacefully in my arms. Brittney had him out yesterday afternoon and everything was fine. I took the kids to dinner last night because DH was at this raffle thing and when we came home, Maxie did come out to greet us (when we get home he usually runs out of the inside cage to the outside cage when he hears voices). Maxie didn't come out so the kids ran out to check on him when I went into the house. JAcob came running and I knew something was wrong. He told me Maxie was just laying there. I went running outside and found him just laying in his cage. He was still breathing, but within 5 minutes he was gone. I actually think he didn't want to pass away being all alone. I'm so glad we got home in time and he was able to pass away peacefully in my arms. DH and I just talked about him probably spending the winter in the house because he just wasn't growing and he still had his fuzzy baby fur instead of preparing for winter. He was the runt of the litter and sadly, just wasn't meant to make it. He spent a good month with us and enjoying coming in the house everyday to run around and play. He always knew when it was time because you'd go out to get him and he jump into your hands knowing where he was going. These are happy thoughts, but it still doesn't make the pain in my heart any better :(. I love animals and this hurts loosing one.

Meet Max!

We went to the fair a few weeks ago and Brittney begged her daddy for a baby rabbit. We previously had 2 rabbits (Tyler and Flopsie) and Tyler passed away in October 2007. Ken didn't like the bunny at first, but Max has really grown on him. He was the runt of the litter and the most adorable of the litter! Harley (the dog in the picture) and Bear don't really mind Max since we've had rabbits before, they're immune to them. In this one picture, Max is even beside Harley and Harley's just watching him.

Scrap time!

I finally had a chance to sit down and create some LOs today. I've been so busy with getting ready for school to start that I haven't scrapped in a few weeks. I love looking at older pictures of my kids, but it makes me sad that they're growing up so quickly. Jacob was 2 years old in this LO back in 1998, today he's 12! He still enjoys helping out around the house~thank goodness!

Bad blogger

See it's already into August and I haven't posted anything since July 21; what a BAD blogger I am LOL!

I did start back to work yesterday (8-4-08) and we spent the entire day cleaning toys with bleach to get ready for the first day. Some people get into preschools/daycares thinking "oh what an easy job, I can do this. Little do people realize all the work that happens in preschools. This week is cleaning everything, but the reward comes on Friday when we get to go to Holcombs! Holcombs is a teacher store; the next best thing to a scrapbook store! I'm also working on lesson plans this week; this is another thing that people don't realize, planning does go into teaching preschool, you just don't go in and "wing it". You need to plan every activity that they're going to do. I love kids and teaching them :) Not too many people can say they love their job.

I finally finished my HAPPY book. I used Colette's idea (THANKS Colette!) about putting words on the sides and I love how it turned out . I used the June kit from Scrapbook Obsessions to create the HAPPY word book. I also used older pictures to create my book.

My paper & pencil holder

I found this at Hobby Lobby and immediately thought of pens and paper. I know everyone with kids has the same problem (well, you might have the same problem). Finding something to write with and paper in the same spot is unheard of in my house. There's either 1) paper and then nothing to write with or 2) pens and nothing to write on. In my house, these items have legs and walk away from the kitchen area (phone area). I've had a pen/pencil holder for years, but then always had to hunt down the darn paper. So I saw this (and it spins too!) and HAD to have it.

I used the Scrapbook Obsessions May kit to create this and the best part is, I just finished painting my kitchen (it's green and rusty color) and these colors from the kit were PERFECT!

Now I have everything in one spot (scissors and flashlight included!) and nothing has grown legs yet :)

Garage Sales

Do you like going to garage sales? I do! I like to look at the ads on Thursday and Friday (these are my favorite days to go) to see what people have listed. I don't go to every sale, but I chose a few here and there. I know some people go to every sale listed. I used to pick up great clothing for the kids at sales, but now they're "too cool" for garage sale clothes LOL! I mainly go just for the fun of it now and rarely come home with anything; maybe a book or two. But hey, it gets me out of the house and I can pretend I'm shopping at the mall. LOL!

I've noticed that people that are having the sale seem to be less friendly this year :( People don't say hello to you when you walk into their "shop". Sad :( It's bad, but sometimes even if I do see something at their "shop" I won't buy because of that. When I have a sale, I make sure to speak to every person simply because I'm not rude.

Did you hit any sales recently and find a great item? What did you find?

Wonderful scrapbook blogs!

The blogs that I've placed under the wonderful scrapbook blogs are talented ladies that belong to Scrapbook Obsessions. You must check out these blogs; the talent here is AMAZING! Each and every lady is truly an inspiration! If you haven't visited these blogs before, please take a minute to visit, you won't be sorry!

This is cornhole!

Jacob and I played a game of cornhole! What a fun game! Who would have thought it would be so much fun to throw bags of corn and try to get in the hole. And these games (units) are quite pricey! Lucky for me Ken made this set for us. I just saw an advertisement yesterday for someone who was selling these (with custom paint jobs) starting at $135.

I'm finally decided to create a blog!

After checking out so many wonderful blogs, I decided to join the "bandwagon". So far, this has been FUN creating a blog :) So with this very first post, I'm officially a blogger :)
